Using deep breathing to diminish anger in competition

Sports are fast, you're in the moment, and things don't go your way sometimes. That not getting your way often leads to an instant emergence of anger, rage, pain, all in a unholy-trinity burst of energy. Often you just react out of this energy and all matters of level headedness are thrown out the window. One way to avoid this trap is to to watch the anger and not react to it, but take a conscious breath or two. This will:

-Create space between the anger and you
-Allow you to not react to the rage or with it
-Bring you back to the present moment, where you can be in an optimal mental state to perform
-Oxygenate you
