"The biggest thing that I've learned from fighting is how to relate to people. When you train, and help others to train, for fights, you have a lot of intense experiences, and this gives you the opportunity to relate very honestly with people you may not normally have the chance to meet. I started training in combat sports when I was sixteen. I was academically gifted but lacked street-smarts and this made it difficult for me to relate to people my own age. I think that learning to communicate and work with people no matter who they are has certainly been the one skill that fighting has taught me that has been the most useful in my life as a whole." -Mae-Lin Leow
